Influence of various factors on the value of thoron emanation coefficient

Abstract The “powder sandwich” method was adapted to the measuring equipment at Laboratory of Radiometric Expertise, IFJ PAN (Kraków, Poland). versatility has been confirmed. values thoron emanation coefficients (f) for 16 materials have determined. It found that value coefficient is not directly dependent on concentration 224 Ra, other factors are also important, e.g. size grains, inter-grain space and distribution radium atoms in grain. influence grain investigated.
